About Me
![]() |
I’m a reporter and editor at The Wall Street Journal, working on WSJ.com and in print. My professional interests include technology research, digital privacy, “database journalism” and behavioral economics.
You can follow me on Twitter @jenvalentino, and you can email me at jennifer [dot] valentino [hyphen] devries [at] wsj [dot] com. Whew!
If you’d prefer more secure communications, please use the public PGP key here. Alternatively, you can use secure chat and contact me at jennifer [dot] valentino [at] jabber [dot] org.
What are these things?
Well, PGP encrypts your data — documents, emails and so forth. People who use PGP to communicate have “keys” that lock their data so it can be unlocked only by those they trust. I use GPGTools for Mac and GPG4Win on my work PC, and I’ve written instructions for both of these tools here.
Secure, or “off the record,” chat also involves encryption, making it difficult for your conversations to be intercepted. But you need to be running a special IM program for it to work. I use Pidgin on the PC and Adium on my Mac.
If you have something to send me, the appropriate physical address is care of The Wall Street Journal, 1211 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10036.
